ALPACA FIBRE PRODUCTS

Owning and breeding alpacas is about producing top quality fibre that will eventually convert to yarn and textiles. The journey from fleece to product to market is arduous. As the alpaca industry is in its embryonic phase products are restricted generally to a narrow range of products often associated with a typical cottage industry or a business that sells products made in South America or China. We believe that the quality of UK alpaca husbandry creates wonderful fleece which has not reached its full potential.

From Farm to Fashion........

We work with craftspeople and artisans such spinners, knitters and weavers. We also work with artists, textile and fashion designers.

Our focus is twofold. We wish to develop products that:

(1) develop and assist the development of rural arts and crafts in Britain

(2) focus on changing trends in textile design 

We believe in innovation, design, style and art.

 Our research and development  is focused on:

(1) Quality of the fibre

(2) Textures through belnding

(3) Originality in design

(4)  Sustainability of process

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN TEXTILE DESIGN

We have spent three years in developing our usp in alpaca textiles. We have developed a range of textiles for commercial use. Our textiles are made in the United Kingdom from British Alpaca. We work in conjunction with the British Alpaca Fashion Company (www.britishalpacafashion.co.uk) who have developed :

• limited edition bespoke textiles for the luxury fashion industry

• limited edition bespoke textiles for the interior design industry
