ALPACA FIBRE PRODUCTS

For us owning and breeding alpacas is about producing top quality fibre that will eventually convert to a saleable product. The journey from fleece to product to market is arduous. As the alpaca industry is in its embryonic phase products are restricted generally to a narrow range of products often associated with a typical cottage industry.

Grassroots to innovation...........

We work with craftspeople and artisans such spinners, knitters and weavers. We also work with artists, textile inventors and fashion designers.

Our focus is twofold. We wish to develop products that:

(1) develop and assist the development of rural arts and crafts in Britain

(2) focus on changing trends in textile innovation in emerging markets - particularly the Middle East and Asia

We believe in innovation, design, style and art.

At our farm we have developed good husbandry practice that helps us to produce fibre with a micron count below 19. This is then converted into a product for the emerging markets.

FASHION & DESIGN

Alpaca fibre has already made a debut in international fashion in Australia and Shanghai. Alpaca fleece is fast becoming a favourite amongst international fashion designers. We aim to enter the textile industry with our focus on quality, design and fashion.
